At the beginning of every year we reflect on the past and look into the future with the hope of doing better and the aspiration of being more successful; as well as becoming more effective. Many of us tackle New Year's Resolutions as strategic challenges and opportunities; however only about 8% of Americans actually succeed in accomplishing their New Year goals.
As learning and development professionals, we know to actually succeed in tackling any goal… takes a deep personal commitment and a lot of planning; as well as an open and honest reflection at both the internal and external factors affecting our goals. Organizations, the people within them, technology, and the global economy are rapidly changing. Understanding how these changes affect the learning, training, and development environment; as well as our roles as effective business partners is vital to our industry and the value we bring to the workplace.
