SIG South Bay RoundTable: Methodology Wars, ADDIE vs. SAM vs. Agile

The accepted wisdom is evolving on how best to manage instructional design projects, and a growing shelf-full of books and articles now offer advice on how to move from ADDIE to SAM. The concepts behind SAM (Successive Approximation Model) have their roots in the agile/scrum framework, which was initially developed to manage software development, and has since become a project management standard across numerous fields.

This Text Study RoundTable will be a discussion of the ATD blog post by Lou Russell,Methodoloogy Wars: ADDIE vs. SAM vs. Agile.  Come and join us to hear and share thoughts and opinions on:

• How ADDIE compares with SAM
• Are they mutually exclusive?
• Is ADDIE no longer relevant?
• How can a methodology for managing software development be applied to an instructional design project?
