Demystifying Agile / Scrum

More than just a good personal trait, being agile is now an entire framework for project management. Applied to instructional design, agile has evolved into SAM (Sequential Approximation Model), and the growing amount of literature on “leaving ADDIE for SAM” makes clear there are some major changes going on within our profession.

To help you better understand where SAM came from, and be able to nod knowingly with SMEs, clients, and managers start in with the agile/scrum jargon, this presentation delves into:

  • What is agile/scrum?
  • Can instructional design projects be managed within a agile/scrum framework?
  • How do SAM and agile compare?
  • Is SAM really a replacement for ADDIE?

Whether you’re considering SAM for your own work, want to know this new agile/scrum language your SMEs are speaking, or need to meet the growing need for helping learners get up to speed on agile/scrum, this presentation will help you along your way.
