One of many things that makes Amazon culture peculiar is their mental model around Day 1 Leadership. Day 1 Leadership is comprised of 4 elements: True Customer Obsession, Embracing New Trends, High Velocity Decision Making, and Resisting Proxies. The idea of being a Day 1 company has been a fundamental part of Amazon from the beginning. Learn how Amazon embodies Day 1 Leadership and scales it within the organization. Amazon strives to delight customers through leading with the leadership principles, working backwards process, creation of mechanisms, document writing, organization design principles, and PRFAQ’s. Come out to learn how Heather used Day 1 in designing and executing an Executive Development Leadership Program and don’t miss this session!

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session you will learn to:

•    Identify the 4 components of Day 1 Leadership
•    Recognize tools and mechanisms to achieve Day 1 Leadership
•    Predict signals of Day 2
•    Determine strategies to achieve Day 1 in your organization
