ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Angelica M. Tirado-Cruz is a Senior Communications Specialist with Şişecam’s Green River, Wyoming mining operations, where she leads both internal and external communications for a large industrial workforce. Her work focuses on translating complex operational, safety, and organizational information into clear messaging that employees, leadership, and community stakeholders can understand and act upon. She oversees major employee engagement initiatives and company events serving hundreds of participants and manages communication projects with budgets approaching $75,000.

Angelica has worked in professional communications since 2017 and brings a unique technical foundation to the field. A U.S. Army veteran, she previously served as a Strategic Systems Repairer, maintaining communication hardware and infrastructure including satellite systems, fiber optics, and computer networks. That experience gives her a practical understanding of the physical and digital mediums that make modern communication possible.

She holds a Master of Arts from the University of Wyoming and is currently a PhD student in Communication at Liberty University, where she is also completing an Executive Certificate in Communication consisting of doctoral-level coursework. Her research explores communication challenges in technologically restricted environments and the role of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in reaching underserved audiences.

Angelica has chaired her company’s United Way campaign for three years and is a member of American Legion Post 36 in Fort Bridger, Wyoming. She remains active in both community and church service and is committed to contributing to the future development of the communications profession.
