Learning to Read Their Minds:  Tapping Into the Power of the Human Brain

About This Article:

Thanks to an explosion in brain research during the past 10 years, scientists know more about the brain than ever before. There also have been significant advancements in neuro-imaging equipment and analysis techniques. These advancements have allowed scientists to understand new aspects of memory, cognition and how we learn.

We will use the GEMS learning system to review a recent article from Chief Learning Officer Magazine which focuses on three cognitive strategies.  Leveraging these strategies allows learning leaders to take advantage of the scientific advancements in brain research through direct application on the job.  Participate, add your insights, and learn from and with your colleagues.

The session will be facilitated by Kathleen P. O'Donnell and the South Bay Special Division Team.

Our Session Format:

The Text Study RoundTable is an exciting new practice in real-time participatory democracy. We will spend a few minutes reading a selected article from leading publications on cutting edge ideas in our field.  We will then hear participants' thoughts and experiences on the topic, time divided equally among all present. Come explore with us!

The GEMS Text Study RoundTable format is provided by Sue Gabriele, President and Owner, Gabriele Educational Materials and Systems.
