Presented by Belinda Teitel, VP of Education and Leadership Development, Center for Nonprofit Management
Have you ever wanted to utilize your talents and professional gifts towards "giving back" in a meaningful way with a not-for-profit organization? Join us to learn from one of the premier resources in the Southern California nonprofit community, the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM), whose mission is to foster thriving communities in Southern California by ensuring that nonprofit leaders and organizations have the knowledge, skills, and resources to fulfill their mission.
This interactive and thought-provoking session will focus on the opportunities and best-practices for serving on nonprofit boards. You’ll receive a snapshot of the local nonprofit sector, explore potential causes to support, gain an understanding of what makes a good board member and what's in it for you - including the challenges and rewards. You’ll also receive guidance on things to consider before joining a board, where to find an organization based on your interest and the steps to take in exploring a board position.
