Morning session: Getting Started with E-learning and Captivate 7 (3 hours)

8:00am check in/continental breakfast
8:30 am – 11:30 am ~ Getting Started with Captivate 7

Continental breakfast will be available in the morning session.

In this 3-hour hands-on session you will learn how to:

Create your first Application Simulation
Create and edit your first training video
Create your first Scenario based Soft Skill training.
Create a quiz and deploy on LMS

Afternoon session: Intermediate/Advanced Captivate 7 (3 hours)

1:00pm – 4:00pm ~ Intermediate/Advanced Captivate 7

Drinks and snacks will be available in the afternoon session.

In this 3-hour hands-on session you will learn how to:

Create your first mobile project
Use the power of drag-and-drop to make eLearning fun with drag-and-drop games, quizzes, and learning modules
Use advanced and shared actions to customize and personalize learning
Create branching that will enable learners to plot their own learning path

What you'll need:

Please bring your laptop with Captivate 7 preloaded. The trial Captivate 7 version is only valid for 30-days, so please do not download early. We will send you a link in a few weeks.

About the Instructor:

Allen Partridge, PhD, Sr. Product Evangelist - Adobe Systems, has a 15-year background in game and multimedia development. He is head of Insight Interactive Games, which has produced casual games that have been distributed via Oberon, Reflexive, Pogo, Comcast, Incredigames, Metacafe and dozens of other portals. He is director of the Applied Media and Simulation Games Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Technology Evangelist for Adobe Director. Partridge is author of the popular new book, Casual Games for Profit and Fun (Charles River Media), as well as Real-Time Interactive 3-D Games (Sams Publishing).

He also is co-author of Massive Fundamentals, the electronic guide to Massive Software’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award-winning large group simulation software, best recognized for its use in blockbuster films such as “Lord of the Rings” and "The Chronicles of Narnia." He has researched and reported on authentic educational solutions using Immersive Learning Solutions at ASTD and for the eLearning Guild during last spring’s conference.

Parking is $3.00 and can be pre-paid with your registration. If you pre-pay for parking, we will have a ticket for you at checkin. If you do not pre-pay for parking, you will need to go to the parking office on the first floor between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m., to pay for the parking at this special rate.

We know trainers sometimes have trouble scheduling professional development for themselves in advance, and as such tend to register the week before the event. However, if you know you want to attend this workshop, we ask that you do so before April 10, or we risk cancellation of this event due to low enrollment.
